An International Cultural Arts Network for Lifelong Learning

The Living Tao Foundation was established in August of 1978 with the inaugural celebration of “Butterfly Dream” including guest speakers and artists John Blofeld, James Broughton, and Paul Horn at the Convocation Hall in Toronto, Canada.

Living Tao is a nonprofit organization located in Gold Beach, Oregon USA, devoted to East / West cultural synthesis, as a network for lifelong learning.  As such the foundation continues to support the creation of unique Tai Ji events and seminars applying ancient wisdom to modern living through the world.

In 1985, Master Huang and the Living Tao Foundation announced the creation of the International Lan Ting Institute located at Wu Yi Shan in the Fujian Province of the People’s Republic of China

Its purpose is to promote, an East / West cross-cultural arts and academic study and exchange programs at the sacred and historic Wu Yi Mountain. Wu Yi Shan is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site rich with historic, religious, and cultural arts traditions.

At these programs, students gather from around the world and are introduced to artists and scholars that are invited by Master Huang. The curriculum integrates Tai Ji forms, brush calligraphy, music, poetry, and history, as well as excursions to areas of historical interest.

In 2008 the International Lan Ting Institute was re-dedicated at the original site in Wu Yi Shan.
